Assignments do not have a standard marking scheme, it depends on your luck.

I’m just finished my final year semester 1 and most of the examined paper was assignment based.

What I’m realize that the marking scheme for assignment especially for the twinning programmed is totally not fair and sometimes you need to depends on your luck. The marking process goes like this: The first marker is your lecturer which gives you the first mark for your assignment. Next, follow by second marker which is lecturer from the same field and same school. Lastly, only SOME OF THE ASSIGNMENT will send to UK and final moderate by University.

That’s totally not fair for the student that the assignment will be send to UK for moderation. For example:

Subject A
Student X 80%
Student Y 60%

Student X’s assignment will send to UK for moderation but not for student Y. When the final maker feel that your assignment not worth 80%, your marks will be lower down, and maybe end up with only 60%. Last of all, student X and student Y got the same marks.

Where is the justice and where is the fairness?

One of my subjects was examined with assignment based. I was very surprise when the lecturer called and informed me that my assignment was too good, too extra ordinary, too perfect, and hardly to believe was done by me. I’m very upset when the lecturer asks me whether the assignment was done by me or outsourced to third party. The lecturer could not find any prove showing that I’m copying the assignment and the plagiarism report showing my assignment was 0% plagiarist. Furthermore, the lecturer said this:

“This assignment definitely not copy from your senior because I have gone through all your senior assignment before. If you copy your senior’s assignment, definitely I will know. That’s why I’m asking you whether you outsourced your assignment or not?”

If you can found any prove that I copied or outsourced my assignment, please, give me 0% for my entire subject, terminate my student status. If not, please stop judging me with your single point of view.

That’s sound funny; if I would like to spend my money on outsourcing my assignment, I’m better spend it to my dissertation project, which more credit point will be awarded for that.

What I felt was, to be a good student is tough, sometimes students should act fool, ask more question that you already understood in class, purposely make some mistake to your assignment so that lecturer has the reason to lower down your marks.
